EOP FAQs

Q: What is EOP?

A: The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) provides academic support and financial assistance to students who show promise for mastering college level work, but who may otherwise not be admitted. EOP is available to full-time students who are New York State residents.

Q: What are the admission requirements for the EOP program?

A:Admissions requirements will vary from campus to campus so check with the Admissions Office to confirm admission criteria. In addition to meeting appropriate admission requirements, EOP applicants must be a New York state resident for 12 months prior to enrollment. To be eligible for EOP, applicants must be ineligible for admission under traditional standards, but demonstrate potential for completing a college-level program.

Q: Are transfer applicants eligible for EOP?

A: Yes, transfer students may apply for EOP consideration if they have been enrolled in EOP, College Discovery, HEOP, SEEK or a similar program at the previous college. If the previous college did not offer EOP or a similar program, you may be considered for transfer to EOP and should notify the college to which you are transferring of your interest.
